Becoming Your Own Creator

Updated: Apr 15

Since beginning my healing journey over 3 years ago, I’ve faced the many vicissitudes of the process. I’ve had moments of clarity, consciousness and happiness followed by difficulties, unconsciousness and despair.

Part of the process has been admitting that I do not have all the answers and then becoming willing to receive new solutions and guidance. This was a new behaviour for the “self-reliant” labeled person I thought I was.

I would hear it all the time, “people can’t change”, but I began to witness my own Self changing, and those around me. I was in disbelief watching myself and those around me change not only small habits and behaviours but their entire reality. How could that be I thought? It went against everything I had been programmed to believe.

Dr. Joe Dispenza explains it well, “A memory without the emotional charge is called wisdom.” “Can you accept the notion that once you change your internal state, you don't need the external world to provide you with a reason to feel joy, gratitude, appreciation, or any other elevated emotion?”

The process of internal change is what I was witnessing. And I was truly in awe. I realized that prior to my journey, I had consistently lived in the past. I would constantly sit in the fear, trauma and resentment of my past experiences. And what did that bring? It brought more pain, fear and resentments into my life. I became a victim to my circumstances and experiences. Never realizing that I had the power and ability to change it.

It’s not to say I had reached the top of the mountain but I can say that I have gained the ability to feel peace, serenity, inspiration and joy. We are not our thoughts. We are not our past experiences. We are not in control of what the Universe brings us. But, we can be conscious in the present moment. We can control how we react to what the Universe brings. We are able to go within to create our own reality. This is the gift we are all freely given.

“If your personal reality is creating your personality, you are a victim. But if your personality is creating your personal reality, then you are a creator.” - Joe Dispenza

The Way
